Stars and Comets

My attempts at astro-imaging. Using a Sky Watcher 130m telescope with motor drive and imaged with a modified Logitech Pro 3000 Webcam. Later with Toucam Pro II webcam or Canon EOS 350D DSLR. Processed and stacked with K3CCD tools and Registax.

Asteroid 2012 da14 narrowly missed Earth on 15th February 2013. I managed to capture this image as it moved through the constellation of
'The Plough.'
Comet Holmes 17p taken on 11th November 2007 with Skywatcher ST80 and Canon 350D. About 15 stacked images of 2s exposures.
Wide field view of the Pleiades taken with the Canon 350D and 55 - 200mm Zoom Lens
The star Arcturus, the brightest star in the constellation Bootes. The Double Star in Ursa Major, Mizar (largest) and Alcor (smallest). The Double Star in Cygnus, Albireo and the smaller star Beta Cygni. Albireo is Gold in colour while Beta Cygni is blue.
Betelgeuse - the red star in Orion, first image taken with the Skywatcher ST80 refractor The Double Star in Ursa Major as above, but enhanced with diffraction spikes added. The Double Star in Cygnus, Albireo and the smaller star Beta Cygni as above, but enhanced with diffraction spikes added.
Comet Swan taken on 2/11/06 with the Toucam Pro II, 40 x 20s exposures, multipoint processing with Registax 4. This is the first time I have imaged a Comet!
Widefield  view of Comet Holmes 17P in Persieus on 5/11/07 (one year on from Comet Swan) This Comet was originally very feint and then suffered an 'outburst' making the Comet visible with the naked eye. This shot taken with my Canon EOS 350D lens set at 55mm.
Comet Holmes 17P on 5/11/07 with my Canon 350D and 200mm zoom lens. 30 x 20s exposures. TComet Holmes 17P on 8/11/07 with my Canon 350D and 200mm zoom lens. 30 x 30s exposures.
